I recently took the First Steps Class taught by Jon Levesque in Ocala. It was a small class so it allowed a lot of personal attention. Jon did a great job covering the course material and taking time to answer individual questions. I also met some great people in addition to Jon.

I recently took the conceal carry class this past saturday in st. petersburg fl with Instructor Craig Trufant. It was fantastic! I have been a firearms enthusiast for some time now and I thought this was going to be more a redundant lecture than anything. But no it was great and I did learn a few things! Craig was a great Instructor spoke loud and clear and covered the material well. Super cool guy answering all my questions and very professional over all! I had a great time!

Hi Rob & Dutch: I'm not sure what to say to you two. The class was wonderful - seems insufficient. It was incredible - that's better. I think everyone learned so much. I know I did. I was probably the worst student when it came to the shooting part, but I certainly learned how to and how not to handle the weapon. I promise you I will practice - ALOT!! The class itself was very informative and even though it was obvious that the purpose was a darned serious one, Dutch interjected just enough humor in his presentation to make everyone lighten up a little and enjoy the class. The rest of your staff was so very helpful and professional as well. Pinellas Patriots can't thank you enough. This was a much needed class for us and I hope that sometime in the near future we can do it again for another group of our incredible Patriots. We'll keep in touch. And, please consider coming to our General Meeting and giving a 10 minute presentation on your organization. I'd also like to thank Rob for all the informed answers that he has had every single time I have called. You guys are making it possible to practice our 2 Amendment. My daughter and I attended a concealed weapons class taught by Dutch in November. It was great to be in a an all womens' class with an instructor that was professional while being practical. Dutch was extremely helpful thru out the entire class and at the range took alot of time with each of us. His patience and attention to all the details made us feel safe while learning alot. I'd recommend that any woman wanting to learn about firearms or get the concealed weapon permit, enroll now! You won't regret it. Thanks Dutch - keep up the great work!

I took the NRA F.I.R.S.T. Steps Pistol course at the Tanner gun show in Denver. Great information for a new shooter as well as review for an experienced shooter. The subject was made interesting as well as informative. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in a concealed permit or just shooting at a range.

I took the concealed weapons women's only class at Gander Mountain 12/06. Our instructor, Dutch was top notch! We never felt rushed. He covered everything thoroughly, was extremely patient with all of our questions and made us feel comfortable while handling several different caliber handguns. My wife and I took the Level 1 Firearms Safety Class last weekend at Gander Mountain in Palm Beach Gardens. Dutch was an excellent instructor! He was very helpful in going over the required material along with answering our many questions. He also took the extra time (after the class had ended) to help us with some practical shooting tips at the range. We both left the class feeling much more comfortable with handguns. A friend and myself went to the class in Pinellas Park two weeks ago, and we were not sure what to expect. Both of us are "new" to guns, we have never shot one and were SO pleased with the class, with all information and relaxed and FUN - it was 110% more than we expected! Dutch was a great, fun and informed instructor, very patient with each one of us in the class! We BOTH would recommend this class to all..and we have! Completed the Women's class today and I highly recommend this class to all the Ladies out there. If you have never shot a gun and want to eliminate that fear of a loaded gun in your home or you are thinking about being able to protect yourself during these crazy times, this is a MUST take class. The instructor Dutch brought years of knowledge and experience to the classroom and made it very enjoyable and I learned alot. The women's class is a little longer as they take more time with you and allow you to shoot a variety of guns. Dutch was very patient will all of us that were in the class and made this a very enjoyable experience. Thanks very much!!!

I took the Women\'s Only Class at Gander Mountain on October 4 in North Palm Beach with Dutch, and he made it an incredible experience. Dutch is an extremely patient instructor, he took a lot of time explaining, and was very thorough in teaching us about safety and handling. Dutch made it a fun course too, and I came away from the class with what I hoped - confidence and new respect for firearms. I had not fired a gun in years, and after the course, I was able to handle my own in a new light. I am now newly enthusiastic to practice and enjoy gun shows more than ever.

I attended a class at the Lakeland Gun Show on 9/19/09. I was very impressed by the information given in the class. It was informative and the way they gave the presentation made it enjoyable! I even stayed after and talked to a few of the instructors regarding hand gun choice. I was amazed at how well they answered my questions and helped me decide what would work best for me. Equip2Conceal Instructor Dutch Wermuth came to our home to give a Level 1 Firearm Safety Course private lesson. He was terrific. Very pleasant and professional. He helped complete the forms for the Florida Concealed Weapon Permit, took the required photo for the application, etc. We then went to a local range to do some shooting, and he was very helpful in that process too. All in all a great experience. The private lesson was well worth the additional cost over a group lesson.

I took the FIRST class w/ instructors Rob and Dennis @ Gander Mtn on 6/27. The class was great and they were very patient with alot of the first time shooters. They also answered some important questions in relation to firearms law et. al carrying in a vehicle etc.. My only complaint was it was over way too fast :)I would def like to continue my training w/them in relation to pistol combat shooting and maybe an intro class on AR-15 techniques and long dist (300 yards) shooting.

I attended Rob Shewmake's Firearms class on April 25,2009. I enjoyed the class and thought it was presented very well. Rob and his assistant were friendly and responsive to questions. The class covered many aspects of firearms handling with an emphasis on safety. There was hands on training for each person. I would recommend this course to anyone interested.

May 8, 2009: If you are looking for a thorough and extensive course in safe fire arm & self-protection training and not simply a means of getting herded through a quick & easy formality of obtaining your CWP then you will enjoy an amazingly educational and hands-on personalized experience! It wasn't your run of hte mill "sign-up here" experience, but instead I was asked a series of questions by Robert which assisted them in determining my: background, skill level and needs in determining who would best map to my customized personalized training. In my case, Johnny Potter. Equip To Conceal was exceptionally accommodating... same day response to my request for Private CWP training... professional... well prepared.. knowledgeable... thorough... worked at a steady - no rush pace, patient.. provided great collateral... covered "all" aspects of safe gun handling... stances, ammunition, legalese, cleaning and addressing each and everyone of my in depth questions. Then there was my exceptional experience at the range where a lot of detail and attention was paid to the logistics of refining my stance, breathing, grip and trigger pull. I went through 50-rounds and could have fired-off more if I had more ammunition, with absolutely no pressure to rush the process. Thanks to Johnny's expertise and ability to transfer his knowledge base, I now possess the comfort to handle my robust ACP and taking it to the next level of competency in further establishing my confidence.

I attended Mr. Shemake's class on 4/14/09. Him and his assistant Edward were great. They gave out alot of information, answered all questions with great detail, and did not make the class boring. Both Shewmake and Edward made sure to get the class involved by doing hands on examples. Which I think gave everyone more confidence in handling a gun. I came out of their class with alot more knowledge about a gun, how to use a gun, the laws about using a gun and more. They just went above and beyond. Thank you guys.

The First Steps Handgun class was terrific. Comprehensive and informative. Provided excellent reading material and all required assistance for the CWP paperwork filing process. I recommend that you take this class to learn about gun safety before going anywhere near a loaded handgun. It could save your life.

Both Stan and Rob did an excellent job of not only going over the required information but spending time on topics based upon their years of experience dealing with law enforcement and their military training. At no time did I feel "talked down to" or ignored when asking a question or for clarification. Their focus and stress on safety was obvious and appreciated. This was a great class. Thank you guys for your patience with an old lady whom hasnt had a chance to do more than shoot old shot guns, and a daughter, who is a little mouse, with no experience. She commented to me on the way home, "I feel different, like I have a duty". I have been preaching to my kids, our rights are disappearing because you need to keep up on what the gov't is doing. It was a 'moment' for me, as the mom, seeing her practice at the shooting range.. I aways instilled 'American' values into both of my daughters. And I didnt think to bring the camera.
